In 1994, the SS. Peter and Paul Historic Corporation was formed and the members of the board voted to preserve and promote the history of the Czech people who settled in Pocahontas, Iowa. This website was created to display some of this history, inform you of ongoing activities, and ask for your contribution and participation.

The future of the SS. Peter and Paul Historic Site will involve some major repairs including roof work and a new heating system. Already the original window glass, imported from Czechoslovakia, has been protected with plexiglas to prevent breaking. 

All of the pictures, books, vestments and other treasures are currently on display and will be updated periodically as money permits.
